In Days 21-30

Entire cities and towns are being wrecked as people are expelled from their homes and countries. Many of these towns are ancient settlements with rich histories and where families have dwelled for generations.

The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. – Psalm 9:9

As people see their cities and homes devastated, pray that they would turn to the Lord and find Him a more-than-able Rescuer and Stronghold. Pray that they would be strengthened to put all their confidence in Him.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. – Psalm 40:1-3

Pray that those who have seen the destruction of their homes and livelihoods would be drawn up from the miry bog and find their feet set upon the rock of Jesus. Ask God to deliver them and show them His wondrous deeds. May these cities be filled with praise to God their Rescuer.

They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. – Isaiah 61:4

Ask God to restore the devastated cities and to renew them with His purpose. Pray that inhabitants would catch His vision for their cities and see them as places of renewed hope, joy, and peace in the Lord.
